Prerequisites


Participants should have a fundamental understanding of income tax preparation, including being familiar with the Internal Revenue Code, key tax forms, and the general process of filing a tax return.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this program, participants will:

  • Learn to adhere to moral principles and professional standards, including providing truthful and accurate information on tax returns, maintaining client confidentiality, and avoiding fraudulent or unethical practices.

    • Become familiar with Circular 230, understanding its role in governing the ethical practice of tax professionals before the IRS, and the duties, restrictions, and penalties associated with tax practice.

    • Recognize the importance of ongoing education and training to maintain a high level of professional competence, ensuring the provision of accurate and reliable services to clients.

    • Learn to treat all clients fairly and without discrimination, providing consistent service and advice regardless of the client's background or personal circumstances.

    • Understand their responsibility to the public, their profession, and their clients by ensuring their actions do not contribute to tax evasion or other illegal activities, upholding the integrity of the tax system.

Program Material

Participants will be provided via separate emails, or via a file-sharing system (for which a link would be given to the participant), with a transcript of the slides.

Program Requirements

  • •Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

  • The program comprises 1 session of 2 hours.

  • The delivery method is via Zoom Meetings. It is not necessary for the participant to create an account with Zoom.

  • Participants must register using the official registration form on our website and provide the following information:

  • Name and last name (As shown on their PTIN account, if applicable)

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Address

  • Date of birth

  • PTIN (If no PTIN, enter NA)

  • Their agreement with the program requirements and policies

  • Upon registration, participants will receive a unique Zoom link. This link MUST NOT be shared with anybody else. Participants must join the session using this link only. If the participant did not receive the unique Zoom link, they must contact us so we can resend it.

  • Participants must have a computer, laptop, or tablet with internet access to join the sessions.

  • During the session, participants’ microphones will remain muted. Questions may be asked using the Zoom chat box.

  • Participants must remain connected during the entirety of the session, answer all polling questions, and provide their feedback at the end of the program through a survey we will send them, in order to receive the Certificate of Completion and have their CE credit(s) reported to their PTIN accounts.
